Reimbursement for Adult Dependents
Participants can submit medical claims incurred by adult children up to age 26. As a result of healthcare reform, employers may now permit employees with health flexible spending accounts (FSAs) or health reimbursement accounts (HRAs) to submit medical claims incurred by adult children up to age 26. The expanded age limit may be permitted for any child of a participant up to age 26, without regard to the child’s income, marital, or full-time student status. Please review your employer’s plan documents to learn how the adult child coverage extension applies to you, including when you may begin submitting expenses for reimbursement.
